Tigerland Rice Farm is located in Ban Huay Khom, a Karen hilltribe village in Thailand’s northern most province of Chiang Rai. Our farm is about 25km from the Chiang Rai International Airport and the Chiang Rai city. Although a mere half hour drive from the city, you will be pleasantly surprised to find yourself transported into a serene farm countryside with little signs of modernity.

We’ll pick you up from either Chiang Rai International Airport or Chiang Rai city. Please arrange your travel to one of these locations and share your flight details with us in advance. We’ll handle the rest to ensure a smooth and comfortable transfer to the farm.

The fee covers the following:
– Full Board: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included.
– Accommodation: Stay in our farm cottage.
– Transportation: Round-trip transfers to and from Chiang Rai International Airport or city centre.
– Guided Rice Farming Program: A hands-on, experiential rice farming program and forest walks guided by our experts.

Our accommodation is in an authentic Karen hilltribe farmer’s lodge, thoughtfully designed and handbuilt by Father Gun and Mother Tomei. The lodge is simple, clean, and comfortable, featuring:
A Private Room and a communal living space: Accommodate up to ten pax.
Mosquito Netting: Provided for everyone’s comfort.
Bathrooms: Installed with western-style sitting toilets.
Shower: Fresh, cool mountain water is piped in for a refreshing shower experience.
This setup ensures a genuine, immersive experience in a rustic yet comfortable setting.

No wifi, weak mobile phone signals, small TV powered by solar, no air-condition, no hot water shower.

Yes, we have two solar panels that provide electricity for charging of phone, camera batteries, laptop, lightings and TV.

All meals are lovingly prepared by Mother Tomei in our traditional firewood kitchen at Tigerland Rice Farm. She uses a variety of fresh produce from our farm, along with wild mushrooms, ferns, and plants foraged from the nearby forest. Each meal offers a taste of authentic, home-cooked hilltribe cuisine.
If you have special dietary requirements, such as vegetarian or halal meals, or prefer food with no chili, please let us know in advance so Mother Tomei can accommodate your needs.

Hospital and medical centres are only 30 minutes away from Tigerland Rice Farm.

There are mini supermarkets and stores at the village. The night bazaar at Chiang Rai city offers an interesting shopping opportunity for local products, arts and crafts. There are also many shopping malls in Chiang Rai city.
